The hotel installed low-flow showerheads and faucet aerators, new thermopane windows, four floors of non-smoking rooms, and new bathroom amenities dispensers that will eliminate the use of more than two million plastic containers a year. Gary Saunders, whose family's Saunders Hotel Co. owns and operates the hotel, says guests haven't balked so far at the dispensers, which hold high-quality shampoo, soap, and conditioner that haven't been tested on animals." Before you book reservations, ask about the hotel's environmental policies. Asking more questions before booking will get the message across -- as an active business traveler, you are concerned about the environmental policies of the hotels your company uses. And hotels being in the "people business," will respond.
